Job description

SUMMARY: Assists the Director of Human Resources with overall administration of Human Resources. The Coordinator of Human Resources focuses on administration and support of Classified Personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and emotional stability.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and works well with others.
  • Ensures the safety of students.
  • Interacts with staff, students and the community in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Ensures confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
  • Assumes responsibility for the operation of the Human Resources Department in the absence of the Director of Human Resources.
  • Supports the management of various human resources information systems.
  • Serves as District representative to hear harassment or Title IX complaints.
  • Responsible for all aspects of recruitment and hiring of classified staff, ESC employees and substitutes.
  • Assists with the recruitment and hiring of all other staff in the District.
  • Plans for the placement of employees in the most effective and efficient positions.
  • Monitors personnel policies and record keeping.
  • Manages federal, state and district-mandated training through Public School Works in consultation with Directors.
  • Assists with forecasting personnel needs.
  • Assists with the new employee orientation and staff development activities.
  • Prepares personnel-related reports required by the District, Federal, State and outside agencies.
  • Assures that classified staff members attain the proper licensing/permits (including coaches and student activity personnel).
  • Consults with and advises administrators and supervisors on contract interpretation and implementation.
  • Supports contract negotiations.
  • Supervises the substitute service for all absent employees.
  • Supports administrators with identifying appropriate substitute coverage.
  • Advises supervisors about matters involving discipline, job performance, employee duties and assignments.
  • Serves on Tuition Reimbursement Committee and Addendum Committee.
  • Manages Fee Waivers and Tuition Reimbursement processing for all employees.
  • Participates in professional growth opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in human resources preferred as well as experience as a building administrator or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the Board of Education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,949.00 - $126,072.00 per year
