Senior Accountant

Book+Street® is a professional services firm focused on helping startup companies start off right, right from the start! We provide CFO + Controllership services to a growing client base, along with a suite of complementary services to help our client companies scale.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who has 3+ years of manufacturing cost accounting experience, loves a challenge, understands and appreciates the sense of urgency often required when dealing with a diverse startup client base and the demands of a consulting firm.

Our ideal candidate will LOVE working in a fast-paced, challenging work environment and be able to handle multiple, competing priorities every day. S/he will be able to collaborate openly with team members and clients, lean in and solve problems.

The Senior Accountant may report to more than one Chief Financial Officer, and will work closely with controllers, bookkeepers, and other team members to manage the following functions for multiple client companies:

• Analyzing manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization
• Performing month-end cost accounting close
• Maintaining cost accounting system and cost ledger
• Performing life cycle cost-benefit analysis
• Analyzing inventory valuations
• Management of the general ledger, accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable in accordance with GAAP
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations

REQUIREMENTS:

You must love startups, and will have extensive experience managing accounting operations within multiple entity types. Additionally, you will possess the following education, skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting
• 3+ year experience in GAAP Accounting
• Strong financial modeling and data analysis skills
• Extensive experience with Quickbooks Online and other accounting software packages
• Accounting designation (CPA or CMA) preferred, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate and take direction in support of the company's goals
• Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
• Self-motivation and self-direction
• Prior experience in consulting services is a plus
• Prior experience with accounting system transitions is a plus
• Prior experience with payroll system transitions is a plus

LOCATION

At Book+Street® we work in a highly consultive environment - not just with our clients, but among our own team. Selected individual will be expected to work on-site as part of a highly collaborative team in our Short North office.
