Compensation Grade: E2

Note that this role may be filled at a different level depending on candidates skills and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Retirement Solutions' Momentum program is revolutionizing the way our business operates. This role plays a key and visible function by creating and maintaining visualizations to show how the benefits of the program are realized. This includes working closely with the project team to track how plans adopt the various features of the program as they are launched (through different phases). This includes FastPay (automated payments), eDelivery, and Web Enrollment. The role also assists project leads to define KPIs for new projects through data exploration. These results are closely monitored by program leadership and the RS Leadership Team.
  • This role also creates, and generates reports, responds to industry surveys, conducts ad hoc data requests and analysis primarily for Retirement Solutions. There is opportunity for this role to expand activities to other businesses within Corporate Solutions as well.
  • Additionally, this role will support operational activities around the quarterly financial close.


Skills:
  • Communication skills to interface with report end-users, IT and Finance
  • Ability to create sustainable data processes, utilizing varied data sources
  • Tableau or Power BI technical knowledge, coupled with ability to create clear visualizations
  • SQL, a plus
  • Knowledge of Retirement Solutions products and processes, a plus

As a Sr, Business Information Analyst you will partner with internal partners to identify data and information needs, and the use of information to help them with business decisions. We'll count on you to analyze information needs, create and maintains ad hoc and ongoing reports. We'll count on you to maintain internal databases for related functional information. We will also rely on you to perform statistical and other data analysis, and interpret analysis results.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partners with internal customers in determining data and information needs that will aid them in business decisions. Develops, produces and maintains ad hoc and custom reports for a functional area. You will be called on to analyze information contained in reports as requested or needed and use various data access tools to pull information for reports and analysis.
  • Plans and supports information project needs, special reporting and new technology. Maintains the integrity of information in internal databases.
  • Retrieves data from internal and external sources and data files in order to keep internal databases current and usable. Exports information to external sources.
  • Identifies appropriate information to be shared with customers. Shares reports and information with appropriate area of the company as assigned.
  • Supports the research, analysis and presentation of information by: producing reports, compiling and summarizing information, producing supporting documentation and exhibits, and verifying information received from external sources.
  • May maintain personal computer hardware and software.
  • Assists other associates with preparation of reports and use of information systems, software and related sources of information. Trains other users on report preparation and data base access.
  • Participates in special projects and teams .
  • Presents actionable recommendations, presentations, reports, and documents to help with the use of the information.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager. Individual contributor

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in business, insurance, mathematics or related field. Prefer degree or professional insurance coursework.

Experience: Four years experience in a business information analysis or similar business related position that involves analysis, problem solving, planning, coordinating and organizing.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of business and/or insurance policies and procedures, customer service concepts and practices. Familiarity with product terminology, processes, regulatory and compliance issues is desired. Verbal and written communication skills for interaction within the functional area, information documentation and report formulation. Ability to understand business information needs and to analyze data requests. Ability to work under tight time constraints. Ability to effectively operate a personal computer with business software applications for data retrieval, manipulation, reporting and analysis.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing Exceptions to the above Minimum Job Requirements must be approved by the: Business Unit Director/Officer and the HR Representative.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Extended periods of personal computer usage and report/information verification. Occasional extended and non-standard hours based on business needs.
