The Technical Business Analyst requires exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, being able to triage and resolve issues working with other teams working on and offshore, and client teams. You are a critical member of the delivery team driving the development of technical business and functional requirements, communication at all levels and contributing to the strategic roadmap of the project.
The ideal candidate is multi-talented across several fields; software engineering, business analysis, math, critical thinking, good business sense, great communication skills, passion for problem solving. This individual needs to be highly resourceful and intellectually curious with solid technical/analytical skills. The Technical Business Analyst must go beyond just running the numbers and be able to translate relevant information into actionable insights. This individual must strive to be well-rounded and good at many things from technical to business to operations to communication skills.
Responsibilities include
The Technical Business Analyst is responsible for working with stakeholders to gather/document key functional and technical requirements, assist in development of the business case, and collaborate with internal development teams to deliver technology solutions that meet the business need and deliver value.
You will apply knowledge and expertise to gather, define requirements, identify, analyze, define and document technical and functional requirements.
• Elicit, analyze, validate and document business, organizational and/or operational requirements/stories based solely on the requirements of the business project.
• Identifies the need and drives the development and implementation for new and significant improvements to major processes.
• Develop a thorough understanding of business processes, best practices, and available supporting technology & documentation.
• Prepare detailed requirement specifications in the form of user stories or functional requirement documents for the development teams.
• Participation in the agile software development process as a proxy for the process owner role to help facilitate progress, answer any questions and provide more detailed requirements as necessary.
• Collaborate with development teams to produce any required documentation or communications that may be necessary in support of the project including project status, project roadmap, release plan, etc.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of practical hands-on Business Analysis experience in large or medium IT implementations of enterprise software applications
• Previous experience in Group Benefits, Property & Casualty or other insurance verticals is a strong preference
• Requires In Depth knowledge of Business Analyst fundamentals (BABOK) with CBAP preferred
• Requires deep analytical and critical thinking skills and passion for analysis
