ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK - PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accounts Payable Clerk compiles and maintains accounts payable records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
* Enters approved invoices into Yardi software, ensuring correct charge of unit and account.
* Corporate office clerks will print and obtain signatures on all accounts payable checks.
* Distributes signed checks as required.
* Contacts vendors if there are questions concerning invoices or statements.
* Answers all vendor inquiries.
* Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files.
* Assists corporate financial officers and branch personnel as necessary.
* Assists in monthly closings.
* Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
* Performs filing and coping.

TRAVEL

* No travel is expected for this position.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

* This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some overtime is required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Two to three years' previous experience.
* Data entry skills
* Strong Mathematics
* Exemplary Customer Service skills.
* Time Management skills
* Experience using accounting software.

PREFERED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* Two year degree in accounting
* Prior experience using YARDI accounting software.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

* Valid driver's license.
* Pass a Motor Vehicle, Drug Screen, Credit, and Criminal Background Check.
