Job description

The Cape Fox family is looking for a Psychologist to join our growing team in support of a Government customer at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. The ideal candidate provides subject matter expertise to USAFSAM Department of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM/FE), Aerospace Medicine Studies and Analysis Division (FES), Operational Support Team (FESO). FESO was established to provide support to Base Operational Support Teams in the field, oversee program development, data analysis, education, training, and field consultative support. The FESO branch is responsible for supporting embedded medical providers with evidence-based practices and real-time data analytics dashboard of musculo-skeletal and mental health risk down to the squadron level. In addition, the FESO branch directs all aspects of an embedded Integrated Operational Support (IOS) training course held at USAFSAM. The team regularly conducts data audits, research and evaluation of programming effectiveness, and tracking of programmatic measures of success. This requirement is for expertise that is to be located within the FESO branch of the FES Division, to support USAFSAM in providing education, training and expert consultative assistance services to the embedded medical teams and providers.


Position-PSYCHOLOGIST


Work Location: Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio

Core Duties:

  • Employee responsibilities include providing psychological expertise and training for a multidisciplinary program at USAFSAM and support for providers in the field.
  • Employee provides assistance in producing the curriculum for training programs, as well as the instruction of the course material.
  • Employee assists in the execution of prioritized scientific investigations with 711 HPW researchers, as well as base-level, MAJCOM and Air Force Level personnel, in implementing initiatives to mitigate psychological stressors and risks and to optimize airman performance.
  • Employee supports agency program goals and objectives, the sequence and time of key program events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the worth of program accomplishments.
  • Employee participates in scheduled team meetings, by providing updates on course scheduling, content and effectiveness.
  • Employee establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other contract employees and assist with the onboard of newly hired contract employees.
  • Employee attends/supports meetings related to expertise with government and civilian organizations, academia, and subject matter experts.
  • Employee provides research support and gather data to assist in identifying psychological issues and their scope, and impact. This includes performing literature reviews and computer searches/retrievals to compile data for use in ascertaining the needs of assigned areas.
  • Employee has skill in organizing and delivering briefings to senior leadership, managers, work groups, higher HQ, to encourage understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
  • Employee provides psychological consultation, education, and training to military commanders/senior leaders and other mental health professionals and medical staff.
  • Employee provides training in areas such as EMR, case management, Air Force mental health clinic operations and specialty evaluations.
  • Employee provides evidence-based clinical psychology services at the base hospital, in order to remain current in the field and to remain a licensed credentialed provider.
  • Employee participates in initial and on-going training, military specific training/activities and others, as directed by the unit Commander or his/her designee to include: continuing education, site visits, workshops, lectures, and seminars to maintain required certifications and updated program requirements.
  • Employee may be required to travel outside of local area for events that include trainings, seminars, conferences, briefings, interventions, and Geographically Separated Units. Travel may include commercial or military aircraft or vehicle. The contractor shall ensure contractor employees complete all mandatory initial and annual training requirements necessary as part of licensure or credentialing renewal. The contractor employee shall meet continuing education (CE) requirements in accordance with AFI 44-117, Chapter 5.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Employee possesses a Ph.D. or Psy.D. Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an American Psychological Association accredited program, in conjunction with at least 4 years' experience working in the psychology field.
  • Employee is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the psychology field, and have experience assessing, and treating a wide variety of adult complex psychiatric problems and this includes the use of psychological testing.
  • Employee has knowledge of military organization and culture and the unique stressors placed upon personnel in an operational military workplace.
  • Employee possesses technical writing and presentation skills, including the ability to conduct scientific literature reviews.
  • Employee is professional, detail oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and speak English fluently.
  • Employee has the ability to thrive in a team environment, yet able to complete assigned tasks independently or with minimal guidance from team leads.
  • Employee possesses: organizational skills; the ability to achieve set goals; initiative in performing assigned tasks; ability to follow-up complex projects with influence, and integrity; and ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel within and outside of the organization.
  • Employee has prior teaching or instructor experience, in order to facilitate course scheduling or modifications as needed.
  • Employee has knowledge of the agency program goals and objectives, the sequence and time of key program events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the worth of program accomplishments.
  • Employee has skill in preparing project papers, staff reports and decision papers; and skill and ability in organizing and delivering briefings to senior leadership, managers, work groups, higher HQ, to encourage understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
  • Employee has prior teaching or instructor experience, in order to facilitate course scheduling and modifications.
  • Employee has a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. The NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager by start of performance.
  • Must be able to pass a Tier 1 Background Investigation

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior military experience, embedded experience, and/or previous experience working in a military research environment is desired.
