Summary:
The HR Business Partner has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational functions of HR and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, training, compensation, compliance, and employee services. This position maintains and enhances the organization's Human Resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating policies, programs, and practices intended to drive business results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer various Human Resources plans and procedures for company associates. Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, engagement and retention.
Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual. Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Provide day-to-day performance guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, action planning, and disciplinary actions).
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
Plan, research and partner with key stakeholders in evaluating organizational structure and the implementation of compensation practices which ensure market competitiveness and internal equity across the company.
Develop and coordinate specialized HR initiatives and programs such as succession planning, leadership development and organizational change initiatives.
Proactively obtain, interpret and present metrics and analysis (performance, turnover, employee engagement, and other data) to business leaders to influence decisions. Identify trends, formulate and execute action plans to address issues.
Provide HR support for transition and cultural integration involving mergers and acquisitions.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Manage compliance with federal and state requirements.
Coordinate workers' compensation and unemployment programs.
Work closely with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely payment to employees.
May coordinate Short- and Long-Term Disability, FMLA, and ADA or other programs related to assigned businesses.

Skills/Experience Required:
Strong knowledge of core HR functions.
Strong MS Office skills and ability to quickly learn other software/programs (Experience with UltiPro preferred).
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and through written format.
Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
Ability to research and analyze various types of data.
Capable of delivering and evaluating training programs or presentations for all levels of employees and management.
Must be well-organized and have excellent document retention skills.
Able to maintain confidentiality and high-level of trust with employees; work with honesty and integrity in all decision making.
Customer service-minded with drive to deliver exceptional results.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably as a generalist.
