What you'll do on a typical day:Build industry-changing applications for the third-party logistics industryCollaborate with and provide guidance to Application Developers and Architects to design, document and implement database strategiesProactively manage database support issues and effectively take corrective actionsResponsible for the scaling and availability of SQL Server databasesReview database procedural and structural change requests, ensuring that all new database code meets company standards for readability, reliability, and performanceRewrite and tune poorly performing SQL code to improve system performance by studying execution plans and optimizing the capabilities of the DBMSDevelop stored procedures and scripting to automate databases tasksDevelop interfaces and integrations with other applicationsBuild reporting and BI tools in a Microsoft SQL Server environment (including SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Analysis Services)What you need to succeed at XPO:At a minimum, you'll need:Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience5 years of related experienceStrong SQL Server (preferably 2016 or later) administration with experience in a clustered environmentExperience in SQL Server performance tuning and query monitoringStrong T-SQL skillsStrong understanding of relational data modelingIt'd be great if you also have:Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or electrical engineeringExperienced in SQL Server performance tuning and query monitoring and SQL Server Always On Availability GroupsBuild robust database solutions from business requirementsExperience with Project-oriented offline database development (SSDT)Fluent in source control, esp. GithubExperience with TeamCity and continuous integrationExperience with SSISExcellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audienceMicrosoft SSAS and data warehouse designOLAP cubes and MDX developmentBe part of something big.We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
