Position is responsible for analyzing, testing and inspecting material and recording results to ensure material specifications are met.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Performs laboratory functions for daily production as well as R&D tasks.
  • Performs chemical analysis, mechanical testing, and metallography.
  • Assists in other laboratory functions, such as heat-treating and cleaning, minor metal working, sample preparation, and other material processing operations as needed.
  • Performs minor equipment preventative maintenance, as needed.
  • Provides process analysis in a group laboratory environment.
  • Performs data entry of analysis results and maintains testing database(s).
  • Performs dimensional inspection of production and sample material, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College experience in relevant technical areas (mathematics, chemistry, material science, any engineering discipline) is helpful.
  • Prior laboratory experience in chemical analysis, mechanical testing, safe chemical handling, and general knowledge of metallurgical laboratory procedures is a plus but is not required.
  • Some exposure to ISO 9001 Quality System is helpful.
  • Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude, be highly analytical with acceptable writing and record-keeping skills.
  • Must have good visual acuity and color vision.
  • Must be computer literate and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Must be willing to work either 2nd or 3rd shifts. Must be willing to work overtime and / or twelve hour shifts as needed to provide additional lab coverage.
  • Practical knowledge of PC functions (Excel and Word).


The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
