Job description
Job Summary:
Work closely with the Direct of Human Resources to support and administer human resources practices and programs.
Generalist Functions:
Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, one or more of the following:
- Address concerns of employees; assist in resolving employee issues - including interpretation of company policies, work rules, union agreement, etc.
- Administer employee uniforms, OSHA logs, safety training and updates, wellness program, building access cards, employment verifications, attendance tracking, and service awards
- Coordinate all aspects of FMLA; communication, certification, and follow up with employee and physician when necessary
- Maintain employee information by using our ADP/HRIS system. This includes: newly hired employee information, employment status changes, termination information, update personnel records, compensation and benefits data information, etc.
- Conduct new employee orientations
- Coordinate benefit information and assist employees in resolving billing issues and questions, plan and communicate enrollment sessions, maintain and distributes insurance documents to employees
- Screen and interview applicants, coordinate background checks, pre-employment verifications and medical exams, process hiring paperwork and maintain personnel files
- Maintain workers' compensation documentation/reporting: coordinating with Supervisors, injured workers, third-party administrator and medical facility if necessary
- Take the lead in planning and organizing company events such as holiday party/company picnic
- Other duties as assigned
Administrative Support
- Work with our Payroll and Accounting Department to assure we are collectively keeping accurate and up-to-date records.
- Support our Safety Director to facilitate annual safety training and record keeping.
- Daily support and collaboration with Supervisor for an array of employee-related support
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Associates degree and a minimum of two years of experience as an HR Assistant or Generalist. PHR or SHRM-CP is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, ADP and familiar with various benefits administration sites.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: PHR or SHRM-CP
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Communication Skills: Daily interactions with customers, guests, management, co-workers and, etc. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, business plans, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, customers, or vendors, etc
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk frequently.

- Color vision (able to distinguish colors)
- Manual dexterity to operate general office equipment, such as phone, computer, printer, scanner, copy machine and fax
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
