The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for all administrative day-to-day payroll and accounting operations using independent judgment and discretion of matters of significance.

Essential Functions

* Compile and record employee time, production and payroll data from timesheets.
*
* Utilize payroll system to enter, compute and post wages and deductions.

*
* Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.

*
* Review time sheets, wage computation and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

*
* Process paperwork for new employees and enter employee information into the payroll system. Train new employees on timekeeping systems.

*
* Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.

*
* Keep track of leave time such as vacation, personal and sick leave for employees.

*
* Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.

*
* Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements.

*
* Create and compile financial statistical reports, statements and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts.

* Record and pay accounts payable.

*
* Post relevant work hours to client files to bill clients properly. Issue invoices to and collect from customers.

* Maintain record of credit card receipts and statements. Record and pay expenses.

*
* Remit payroll taxes, sales taxes, use taxes and income taxes.

*
* Account for fixed assets.

*
* Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash.

*
* Collect information as needed for the annual audit.

*
* Maintain a coherent system of accounts with a supporting filing system.
* Prepare and balance month end close out.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

* Bachelors Degree in a related academic area such as Accounting, Purchasing, Management, Business, or Leadership is preferred.
* Minimum of two years of related experience or training, including having been through an audited statement is preferred.

* Accounting experience in a construction or manufacturing industry is preferred.

* Proficient in the use of Quickbooks online is required.

* Proficient in the use of Sage is preferred, but not required.
