Job Summary

As the leader of the plant HR function and a critical member of the site leadership team, the HR Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective employee relations function, hourly production workforce recruiting, and for deploying large-scale HR initiatives, programs and processes. The HR Manager will be a key leader within the overall HR Team and will have the opportunity to work on projects that are company-wide in impact.

As the Plant HR manager, the successful candidate will be the point person in enabling positive employee relations within the plant. They will also positively impact our plant operations through initiatives and actions that support effective recruiting and onboarding, learning and development, positive culture change, wage/hour compliance, workers' compensation, and unemployment.

The successful candidate must be comfortable in a manufacturing environment, able to juggle multiple priorities, and have strong communications and interpersonal skills while working with a diverse employee population. They must also be a solid practitioner in all/most sub-specialty areas of HR and have the knowledge/experience to provide expert recommendations to our plant leadership. The Human Resources Manager for our New Albany Plant will report directly to the Plant Director of Operations with a dotted-line reporting to the VP of Human Resources.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related major.
* At least 5 years of general HR experience in a manufacturing organization.
* At least 2-3 years of previous experience as an HR Supervisor or Manager.
* Experience and expertise in proactively identifying and implementing practical employee relations solutions.
* Experience in recruitment and retention initiatives. Experience in frontline employee and manager/supervisor learning and development initiatives.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and HRIS systems.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and coach a diverse employee population in a matrixed environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws as well as EEO and Affirmative Action requirements.
