Job description
Tarpstop is a Midwest U.S.A.-based manufacturer of flat-bed tarps and tarping systems. We have four locations to serve our customers and a great selection of tarpaulin and cargo control products. We are looking for a Human Resources Manager who will lead the department and manage the growth of the company.
Overall Responsibility
· Manages all areas of human resources for all facilities within company.
Responsibility Description
· Directs and manages human resource personnel to meet the goals of the department and company.
· Develops high level strategies to ensure our human resources support the overall company objectives.
· Develops, implements, and maintains HR policies, processes, and procedures for all locations and ensures they are all in compliance with state and federal regulations.
· Investigates and recommends action to be taken, and participates in claim hearings as necessary, including unemployment compensation claims, workers compensation claims and equal employment opportunity claims.
· Ensures compliance with FMLA, ADA, FLSA and all other government regulations and programs.
· Manages recruiting, hiring, onboarding and retention process for all new employees.
· Manages payroll process for all employees including time entry process for hourly employees.
· Manages the discipline, termination and exit process for employees leaving the company.
· Develops and maintains job descriptions and compensation strategies for all new and existing positions.
· Manages company benefits programs and makes recommendations for enhancements to Senior Management Team.
· Manages performance review process.
· Initiates and maintains training programs to develop new and tenured employees.
· Promotes talent development and creates a talent pipeline for key positions.
· Coaches and educates management and other leaders on HR topics (code of conduct, performance management, etc.)
· Develops and monitors HR KPIs and other employment metrics to assist in data driven decision making.
· Manages the company safety program with a strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
· Maintains and fosters a positive and professional work environment.
Preferred Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Management
· SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
· 10+ years' experience as an HR Manager
· 2+ years manufacturing knowledge
· Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal employment labor laws and regulations
· General knowledge of USDOT compliance
· Minimal overnight and offsite travel may be required
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Lead by example
Performs other duties and assignments as required
