Hartzell Propeller is the leading manufacturer of aircraft propeller systems for general aviation, supplying propeller systems for aircraft manufacturers and modifiers around the world. Job Summary

Hartzell Propeller seeks an energetic and hands-on Distribution and Inventory Manager to provide leadership to the Warehouse and Distribution team and manage the daily production schedule to satisfy customer needs and inventory requirements. This Manager will be responsible to lead the team, assist in daily shipping activities, dock functions and processing of parts as well as the LTL and export shipping function. The manager will have ownership of all freight claims and transportation damage. We are looking for a leader who will drive best in class operations in the Hartzell Warehouse and Stockroom.

Key Deliverables

1) Through collaboration with the right people, lead and drive continuous improvement and strategic initiatives within the warehouse network

a. Implement best in class component and materials storage

b. Drive operational efficiency space utilization and network design

c. Assist in the development of Kanban quantities to assure minimum inventory with maximum customer service levels

d. Analyze inventory to maximize turns

2) Develop a cohesive and talented staff; nurture our winning culture

a. Live to our statement of values and maintain positive morale

b. Play a significant role in the hiring and onboarding of talent

c. Identify contributors with potential to grow and provide development opportunities

3) Provide proactive leadership necessary to drive, develop and monitor all performance metrics within the network for inventory management and control.

a. Physical inventory, cycle counts and internal audits.

b. Issue spot and drive solutions to items that impact these metrics

4) Effectively support manufacturing by minimizing schedule tension and assuring component availability.

a. Utilize operating systems for the daily execution of planned activities and administration.

b. Report on and resolve material support concerns daily.

c. Plan for the phase in and phase out of new product introductions and engineering changes to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.

Education/Experience

5-10 years of related manufacturing experience in warehouse and distribution

Technical Competencies

1) Excellent verbal and written communication skills

a. Ability to articulate directions, actively listen, provide and accept feedback

2) Proficient Computer Skills (MS-Office, Advanced Excel a must, ERP system (We use MAPICs), electronic shipping software such as UPS, FedEx and DHL

a. Savvy with technology, systems and tools; progressive experience with Power Bi (report building/dashboard management

b. Ability to manipulate data and overcome system integration limitations

3) Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain inventory management protocols; develop SOPs

4) Ability to create, collaborate, monitor, control and report out on KPMs

5) Flexibility to work required hours (this may include weekends and holidays when operations required)

6) Disciplined Problem Solving - utilizes rigorous logic, method and appropriate involvement to solve difficult production issues
