Job description
Works in an administrative clerical pool in multiple capacities and roles as needed for all city departments to provide absence coverage or work on special projects. Perform secretarial duties such as answering the phone, directing calls or taking messages, staff correspondence, making appointments, typing documents, sorting and filing documents, etc.
This is an on-call position to cover absences, vacations, etc.
Average is 8-16 hours per week, but this is not a guaranteed minimum
RATE OF PAY: $15/HR
This position participates in PERS (Public Employees Retirement System)
EXPERIENCE AND KEY CHARACTERISTICS:
The type of person who will be successful is one that is people oriented, can handle multiple priorities, understands secretarial duties, and is highly organized.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
· Able to work effectively with elected officials, co-workers, the general public, and government agencies on all levels with a positive and helpful demeanor
· Demonstrates high integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality
· Outstanding oral, written communications and interpersonal skill to be able to meet with the public and direct them to who can best address their concerns
· Professional and appropriate dress required
· Must have a high school diploma and or G.E.D.
· Related experience and business coursework is preferred
· Must pass a drug screen and complete a full background check performed by Ravenna P.D.
