Graphic Packaging International Solon has an opening for a high-energy people-orientated Human Resources Coordinator. Solon Carton is a paper manufacturing facility with 185 hourly employees. The HR Coordinator is responsible for ensuring consistent application of company policies, benefits, compensation guidelines, fair treatment of employees, training, and recruitment. The HR Coordinator will work with management to offer guidance and ensure adherence to legal and ethical policies. In addition to working with management, the HR Coordinator will be responsible for coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as needed. JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

* Maintains compliance with Federal and State employment regulations.
* Process payroll for all union hourly employees.
* Track, maintain, and send out hourly performance reviews.
* Administer attendance tracking.
* Assist in providing new hire orientation.
* Coordinate scheduling of hourly interviews.
* Track, maintain, and pay attendance, bonus hours, holidays, and bereavement.
* Provide headcount report to HR Manager and accounting.
* Track absenteeism and attendance records for all hourly employees.
* Coordinate garnishments.
* Coordinate with temp agencies for temporary staffing.
* Maintain employee data in HRIS and run reports.
* Maintain employee files
* Assist employees with 401K, medical, dental, and vision insurance.
* Assist employees with Employee Assistance Program and Educational Assistance Program.
* Provide employees with FMLA information from Cigna.
* Directly involved in responsibilities/actions related to prerequisites and food safety programs.
* Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
* Coordinate company events and participate in the culture committee.
* Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International's good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork.

Required Skills

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

* 2-4 years of Human Resources experience required.
* HR experience in a union environment is preferred.
* Demonstrated supervisory and project management experience.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

* A Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Thorough understanding of Human Resources policy and practices.
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Moderate skill level in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of training and employee development programs.
* Must possess strong knowledge of state and federal employment law.
* Individuals must be adept at analyzing and recommending solutions to a variety of problems and subjects.

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

* Ability to maintain favorable employee morale.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks.
* Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.
* Ability to provide insight in capacity expansion needs assessments.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

* General schedule is day-shift, however, employees must be willing to work alternate schedules that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
* Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time.
* Occasional lifting.
* Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
* Use of various hand and electrical office equipment.
