The Technology Transfer Project Manager provides technical support and facilitates all efforts involved in the transfer of existing products/processes to manufacturing sites within the United States. The initial focus for this position will lead the transfer projects that are planned, and underway at the Largo, FL facility. The technology transfer project manager will need to be the expert for the technology transfer process, and to fully understand and to be able to utilize the global Change Control Process. This person will lead multiple projects simultaneously, focused on a single product or manufacturing process to be transferred. The projects are comprised of multi-site, multi-culture, with international teams with different Saint-Gobain Business Units (BPS, MED, FTS). The person can be leading the entire project, or sub-project team from capturing of the requirements, thru installation of equipment including final validation. These efforts are performed in close collaboration with the sending and receiving sites project teams, and global LS teams. As a trainer and coach, the project manager will communicate technical aspects of technology transfer needs to those not familiar with the tech transfer process, and work closely with the site Project Managers to establish project transfer capabilities within the transfer teams, and ensure that the executed transfer process is compliant with the Tech Transfer Standards. Overview of Responsibilities (exemplary not in full extend, can be adjusted over time): Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with Sr. Managers, project sponsor and other stakeholders Depending on size of project prepare and hold defined project Start up workshop to establish: timeline, work packages, resource needs and project team alignment and commitment. Assign clear role and responsibility to the team Drive, develop, or assist teams within maintaining focus on project success throughout the delivery cycle. Effectively communicate expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, continuously manage objectives, and hold project team members accountable for delivery. Lead the project execution and delivery and help project teams maintain an overall project vision & Scope with supporting project plans. Identify and manage project dependencies, critical path items, and project risks. Support formulation and implementation of project management standards. Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Advocate best practices and tools for project execution and management. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential roadblocks, and devise contingency plans. Manage relationships with project stakeholders. Develop and deliver progress reports with transparency to management and other stakeholder including issue/action item logs, project status, and risks. Conduct post-project reviews and make recommendations for continuous excellence in project execution and delivery. Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Maintain the tracking of all global technology transfer projects Collect and communicate needed transfer standards to the core manufacturing process experts Provide continuous review and improvement of the technology transfer processAt the end of each project, the person will facilitate and or document the lesson learned of the Project and propose / execute improvement actions. The overall goal is to enable the receiving & sending sites to autonomously execute transfer projects in the future. The Technology Transfer Project Manager is responsible for the daily management, supervision, coordination and successful completion of tech transfer projects to meet time and cost objectives.Essential Functions Hands on Project Management of assigned key project -> doing yourself (70% of the time) Supporting, guiding, other project managers and the organization to be successful in leading their assigned projects -> guide, support others on projects (20% of the time) Continues improvement of Technology Transfer process and tools -> process (10% of the time) Share best practices with other LS department, other Saint-Gobain business units and outside of Saint-Gobain -> share (10% of the time)Required QualificationsEducation Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical discipline is required. Master's degree in engineering or a technical discipline is preferred.License and Certifications Different certification and standard and modern Project Management, Change management, Project Team building and leadership is required. Continuous Improvement (WCM, Kaizen, Lean ) green belt training or equivalent is preferred. Training & coaching of Project Management systems, tools to lead other project manager through successful projects is preferred.Work Experience 7 years of project management experience using standard project management approaches. 4 years of technology transfer experience.Technical Knowledge Knowledge of cGMP, and FDA requirements is required. Proficiency with MS Project or other project management software and MS Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); proficiency with MS Project Server is a plus.Travel Requirements 50% of the time.
