Position Overview: The VP of Information Technology is primarily responsible for leading and directing the people of the IT organization, managing and developing the business application portfolio, and making decisions regarding the purchase of IT equipment. This position requires a significant understanding of an eCommerce business and online marketplaces, primarily Amazon. Duties include assessing current systems and processes, recommending improvements that support the business strategy, and directing the execution of those changes. They must have the ability to work with department leaders and manage competing priorities.

Here's what you'll be doing:


Strategy

  • Participate in internal business and strategy processes to help formulate long term enterprise and related technology strategy and goals.
  • Provide the vision and roadmap for the company for its computing platforms and other IT-related data disciplines, including data and network security.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce written policies and procedures regarding all computer operations within the company.
  • Responsible for identifying, procuring, implementing, and maintaining all computer hardware and software and all other products and services necessary to operate and manage the business.
  • Establish data management strategy and policies in conjunction with various functional teams.

Leadership

  • Provide supervision, employee development, training, reviews and recruitment for IT team members, including developers, Help Desk personnel, and network managers.
  • Lead all critical IT functions including project management, status reporting, and executive communication.
  • Participate on projects in varying levels of involvement with entities within the company and/or external entities to offer IT-related expertise, guidance, and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relevant metrics to assess organization efficiencies, system capabilities and optimization as well as cybersecurity, data privacy and integrity.
  • Manage all IT network and enterprise applications including licenses, services, and regulatory compliance for both on premise and cloud-based offerings.
  • Responsible for overseeing all Cyber Security, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans for the organization which includes ongoing education to the employees, assessment of the company's risk and implementing procedures and systems to mitigate risk.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and executing a department budget.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with all vendors for hardware, software, telecom, and cyber services
  • Communicate with other executives regarding costs, value and risk-potential of new IT projects.


Reasons we want you on the team:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar
  • 15 or more years of work experience in Information Technology
  • Depth of experience in IT systems and network infrastructure, enterprise applications, and cyber security architecture
  • Experience implementing, supporting, and enhancing ERP solutions
  • Experience working with a suite of IT applications, including transactional, middleware integration, workflow, business intelligence (BI), web-based, and relational database technologies (design and function)
  • Experience with a cloud-based infrastructure and data architecture
  • A solid technical foundation, flexibility, ability and a passion for seeking and learning new technologies and ability to lead or participate in varied projects
  • Ability to develop policies, define and implement procedures and controls
  • Willing and able to work on-premise at our Cleveland, Ohio office when needed


Strong Pluses:

  • Masters Degree
  • Experience in a high growth technology company
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / AX 2012
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
