Purpose:

Proactively manage EHS and Sustainability in order to comply with all applicable regulations, to achieve a safe work environment and minimize the impact to the environment. Proficient with conducting data analysis and reporting stats. The EHS Manager will be involved in the design, development, coaching, training, and administration of environmental, health and safety systems and programs to keep all employees safe while also acting as the contact with federal, state and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities:
Develops, implements and manages safety programs, policies and procedures.

Identifies hazardous conditions/actions within the plant and recommend corrective measures.

Investigates and prepares presentations for all incidents and property losses.

Organizes and oversees all required safety training, i.e. fork truck, lockout, new hire onboarding, etc.

Provides safety orientation to new employees.

Leads plant wide 5S Initiatives.

Conducts Management of Change on new equipment.

Provides Supervisors/Group leaders with safety training information for weekly and monthly safety meetings.

Tracks training to ensure compliance with Corporate Regulatory Task Schedule.

Identifies gaps in training curriculum by analyzing injury/illness data.

Manages the contractor safety program and ensure compliance.

Assists inspection personnel from insurance carriers, OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.

Manages all federal, state and local environmental permits and ensure compliance.

Assists in purchasing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Prepares monthly incident summary reports.

Updates and maintains OSHA 300 log.

Supervises safety teams.

Supports site as safety mentor for visitors.

Files and maintains SDS sheets.

Assists with the administration of the workers compensation program.

Recommends and budgets for safety capital expenditure items and annual safety budget.

Manages all property/casualty insurance claims.

Performs any other duties established by the Regional EHS Director.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Degree in Industrial Safety Management preferred.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

1 - 3 years Safety Experience in an industrial setting.

Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other government regulations.
