Job description

As a Senior Development Chemist you will work as a part of the Industrial Powder Regional Technical team with a focus on the formulation of bonded metallic powder coatings. You will be asked to drive the development and understanding of fundamental principles of these coating formulations. You will also participate actively in the role of product commercialization and will provide direct support of urgent field technical problems.Key Responsibilities

• Formulation and color-matching of bonded metallic powder coatings
• Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with other colleagues across different functions such as Manufacturing and Operations
• Provide supervision and leadership for a small technical team consisting of other chemist, technicians, and color experts. In doing so the individual must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead job specific aspects of multiple projects
• Identify and utilize internal or external resources when applicable
• Ability to solve problems creatively and innovatively
• Ability to complete projects according to outlined scope within the established timeline
• Developing and testing new ideas directed at improving coatings properties to add value thru improved performance
• Travel to customer lines for trials and launches

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in chemistry, engineering, or equivalent scientific degree with relevant experience in coatings formulation preferably in Powder Coatings
• Experience with bonded metallic powder coating formulations is desired
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
