Position Summary
The HR Representative is responsible for employee-related functions within the assigned locations relating to recruitment and retention, time & attendance, coordinating the orientation process and training, maintenance of personnel files, and employee relations. This positions acts as a business partner to provide human resources knowledge, support and guidance as aligned Pella's People Focused Culture and HR related policies and programs. Builds relations within the plant to best understand, address and meet the needs of team members. Drives and supports HR objectives to improve effectiveness and efficiency of support and services.
This Human Resources Representative will partner with managers and employees to create a world-class work environment and team capability. This Human Resources Representative will lead adaptation, implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of corporate policies and programs from the human resource perspective. This Human Resources Representative will provide leadership in recruiting, employee performance, discipline, training, communication, career planning, retention, succession planning, and other human resources matters.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
- Providing advice, counsel, and follow up to suggestions, questions and concerns to all levels of employees
- Training and specifically providing respectful work environment training
- Coordinating recruiting efforts
- Coordinating employee performance processes including employee reviews, performance resolution, and corrective action
- Understanding HR Metrics
- Leading and participating in assigned projects and driving improvements
- Participating and/or leading policy and program development that will ensure high performance teamwork, high productivity, regulations are met, and appropriate work-life balance for employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or two or more years of human resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred but not required
- Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Visio are required. Knowledge of Ceridian or the HRIS systems is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem solving and creative thinking skills
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Multi-tasker with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Supervisory skills of support employees as needed
