About the Role:

This role will support the general human resources function through the development, implementation and communication of human resources policies and programs. The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for providing outstanding customer service through issue resolution to both internal and external customers regarding Kalmbach Feeds human resource programs. This position will provide daily administration of various established human resources programs and assist in the overall development of existing or new offerings.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Acts as first point of contact for human resources related questions, answering inquiries and assisting team members with benefits, life events, disability, FMLA, retirement (401k) and other people related programs.
* Assist in the development human resources programs, which may include benefits, workers compensation, leave of absence, professional development and performance management.
* Supports the development of team member programs and solutions through the collection and analysis of data and putting forth recommendations.
* Complete and respond to employment verifications, garnishment and unemployment requests.
* Coordination of annual team member recognition events and awards.
* Assist new team members with the benefits enrollment process and dependent verification process.
* Maintain Human Resources Information System (HRIS) by updating team member data including payroll status changes, transfers and employment terminations as needed.
* Provide support and administration of the learning management system (LMS); supports companywide training initiatives and provides reports to leadership on assignment completion and compliance.
* Support monthly and on-going human resources reports such as team member anniversaries, headcount, turnover, FTE, compensation planning and other reports as requested.
* Work on a variety of special projects relative to the development and implementation of human resources policies and programs, and other tasks as assigned.

The Right Candidate:

* Bachelor degree in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline.
* Relevant experiences serving in a human resources generalist capacity including HRIS and reporting, benefits administration, leave management, team member policies and team member relations.
* Proven record of providing outstanding customer service and building relationships with team members and business partners.
* The motivation, adaptability, and professional qualities to work and manage projects in a decentralized and ever changing work environment.
* A deep desire to perform root cause analysis, seek out process improvement opportunities and put forth viable, results oriented solutions that align with the overall organizational plan.
* Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
