Job description
ChampionX is seeking a Buyer/Planner located in Broken Arrow, OK. The Buyer/Planner position requires being a hands-on team member responsible for facilitating the timely planning of deliveries within supply chain. This also includes optimizing inventory planning to meet service, cost, and timeliness objectives for the enterprise. This role directly interfaces with external suppliers as well as all facets within the company to plan and prioritize material supply. Having a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is critical for the success of this individual.

What You Will Do:
Planning:
* Utilize the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process for the following:
* Analyze historical product demand
* Forecast inventory needs
* Analyze and monitor inventory levels
* Assist with new products from engineering
* Assist with slow moving and obsolete analysis
Buying:
* Recommend and create Purchase Orders based on the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process and target inventory levels.
* Monitor supplier performance to Purchase Order commitments and communicate internally.
* Adjust Purchase Orders based on supplier capacity and demand. Adjust delivery dates as appropriate.
* Assist with supplier scorecards for quality and delivery
* Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts
* Create work orders for manufacturing
Strategic:
* Recommend and assist in establishing target inventory levels, i.e. MIN/MAX. KANBAN, etc.
* Identify and assist with productivity projects
* Identify opportunities to improve turn rates, i.e. consignment agreements, vendor held stock
* Assist with new products from engineering
* Assist with slow moving and obsolete analysis
* Identify, research, and evaluate suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Assist with NEW supplier assessments
* Negotiate for price reductions, improved payment terms, and programs to reduce working capital
* Analyze and evaluate supplier bids, tenders, proposals, or quotations; negotiate prices and delivery conditions; commit to purchases (within established limits of authority) with terms that are in the organization's best interest
Minimum Qualifications
* High school education or equivalent
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
* Advanced Microsoft Excel to include vLookups and Pivot Tables (required)
* Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
* Ability to interact politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers
* Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
* Works under general supervision - engaged in a balanced blend of tactical and strategic activity.
* 2-4 years' experience

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems strongly preferred
Essential Functions

Visual Acuity
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading.
The employee is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
Working Conditions
None. The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as a part of their normal activity but will on occasion assist with physical inventories and cycle counts outdoors.
