Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Oversee development and implementation of the volunteer program which will provide support and assistance with Cultural Center programs and events.

This position starts at $19.85 hourly. The Cultural Center is open Wednesday through Sunday each week.

Primary Tasks:

* Recruit, train, and manage all long-term and short-term volunteers; ensure all recruited volunteers complete paperwork, background checks, and training requirements.

* Manage volunteer shift schedules to ensure Cultural Center needs and priorities are addressed.

* Maintain a solid body of volunteers who are well versed in Choctaw history and culture, hospitable and able to meaningfully engage with visitors to the Choctaw Cultural Center.

* Develop and maintain a volunteer benefit and recognition program - this will include working with Cultural Center Associates to identify areas of need, upcoming events and general areas requiring support.

* Develop and maintain volunteer training manuals and provide information to keep volunteers informed about the Choctaw Cultural Center and their duties.

* Work with appropriate Cultural Center Associates to ensure volunteers are professionally trained in their area(s) of service.

* Track skills, performance, and training needs of volunteers.

* Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

* Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, communications, or public relations.

* Computer experience in Microsoft Office

* Excellent written skills sufficient to produce sales communication

* Ability to meet and work effectively under time and resource constraints

* Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills

* Ability to work with the public and community

* One (1) year prior customer service experience

TARGET

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, communications, or public relations.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office.

* Excellent written skills sufficient to produce sales communication

* Ability to meet and work effectively under time and resource constraints.

* Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

* Ability to interact and engage meaningfully with the public and community.

* Two (2) or more year's prior customer service experience
