Summary:

Tetra Tech, Inc., an industry leader and nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a motivated, intelligent, and experienced professional to fill a Mid-Level Air Quality Environmental Scientist/Engineer position. Work location is Tinker Air Force Base, OK.

Your Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collection of pertinent air quality data, ability to critically analyze process information and provide recommendations to the client and develop technical reports in support of environmental programs for federal, state, and local clients.
  • Support Department of Defense and other industrial client Air Quality Program to include:
  • Air Emissions Inventories
  • Potential to emit calculations
  • Title V compliance reviews
  • Greenhouse Gas Inventories and reporting
  • NSR, PSD, and Title V permitting
  • Site surveys to determine compliance with the Aerospace NESHAP
  • Recordkeeping and reporting
  • Opacity observations
  • Support other environmental protocols as required.
  • Technical writing.
  • Data review, applicability review, and recommendation of best results.
  • Client interaction and presentation of options and results.
  • Production of deliverables.
  • Technical report writing, data analysis and client interaction are regular requirements associated with this position. Periodically there are requirements to present project findings to a client and relevant stakeholders.

  • Qualifications:

    The following experience and skills are required for this position:

    Experience
  • Knowledge of the United States Air Force or other DoD organizations preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of the CAA, permitting, and emission inventories.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to air quality in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Field service support to include data collection and ability to identify potential noncompliance instances, critical air emission data collection, and site surveys.
  • Technical report writing with various intended audiences to include Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, DoD Representatives, and non-air quality professionals.
  • Ability to interact and communicate directly with the client and provide options and results of deliverables.
  • Production of deliverables.
  • Support Department of Defense and other agencies Air Quality Program to include:
  • Air Emissions Inventories
  • Potential to emit calculations
  • Title V compliance reviews
  • Greenhouse Gas Inventories and reporting
  • NSR, PSD, and Title V permitting
  • Site surveys to determine compliance with the Aerospace NESHAP
  • Recordkeeping and reporting
  • Opacity observations
  • Support other environmental protocols as required.

  • Skills Required:
  • Excellent communications, technical report writing, fact and research finding.
  • Sampling, field work, data analyses and reporting.
  • Proficient computer skills, MS Excel, Word, ACCESS.
  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Current Common Access Card Holder Preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Air Force Air Program Information Management System preferred.
  • Knowledge of the State and Local Emission Inventory System preferred.
  • Knowledge of e-GGRT preferred.

  • Education & Experience:

    Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Environmental Studies or related field. 3 years of air quality experience in Oklahoma is preferred.

This may include walking distances and carrying equipment that is typically lightweight in nature.

    Work Environment:

    The major of task required for this position will be accomplished in an office environment. At times, the employee may be required to travel for field work to complete site investigation and data gathering. The employee may be required to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions as needed to maintain project schedules.

    Language / Communication Skills:

    The employee must be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. The employee will be responsible for providing high quality written products to include presentations, reports, and database inputs.

    Mathematical Skills:

    The employee must be able to perform basic math as needed to support air emission calculation and regulatory reporting.

    Oher Skills:
