Job description
Spur Design is looking for a full-time Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate is organized, a self-starter, detail oriented, and collaborative.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Provide electrical engineering design and documentation on projects within Spur Design offices including client liaison, site investigations, design, contract documentation and construction administration.
- Perform electrical engineering tasks including, but not limited to, production of contract documents, specifications, design narratives, electrical calculations, and submission packages.
- Take responsibility for time management of assigned jobs. Keep an accurate daily record of the time spent on each assigned job.
- Travel for but not limited to site visits, client meetings, professional collaboration, and satellite office visits.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited four-year college or university, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, electronics, or related field
- Professional engineering license (PE) required
- Have 4-8+ years of experience
- Previous VA, FAA, or other federal work experience is a plus
- Experience with design of building lighting, power, data, nurse call, security, and fire alarm systems for healthcare projects is preferred
- Thorough understanding of building/electrical codes
- Experience writing specifications
- Able to work with and oversee junior staff
- Ability to balance varying-paced deadlines and responsiveness while maintaining quality and a high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and solve technical problems quickly and effectively
- Proficiency with various software including Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Bluebeam, etc.
- Drafting knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and Revit is a plus
BENEFITS

- Health Insurance and retirement benefits are included in the Total Annual Compensation and are the choice of each individual employee.

- Retirement benefits include matching 401k contributions of 1-for-1 matching up to 3% and 1-for-2 matching up to 5%, with a maximum match of 4% for a 5% employee contribution. This plan is a "safe harbor" eligible plan and, subsequently, no vesting period is required past initial eligibility requirements.
- Spur Design also offers reimbursement of training and professional organization dues or fees with prior approval by ownership.
