You are not just applying for a job, this is the start to a new career whether your path takes you to the corporate headquarters or within the food production and distribution side of the business.*Position Summary*Ensure accurate and timely accounting and proper recording and presentation of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) specifically related to preparing journal entries, completing balance sheet reconciliations, providing assistance to the accounts payable administrator and managing intercompany accounts.*Essential Job Functions** Coordinate general ledger activities, including preparing and posting journal entries while maintaining supporting schedules, documentation and appropriate levels of approval.* Prepare monthly reconciliations for all assigned balance sheet accounts, research outstanding balances and recommend corrective action to ensure timely and accurate completion.* Maintain and ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls. Ensure all documentation is current.* Serve as the key point of contact for all intercompany transactions, including but not limited to, confirming receivable & payable balances, while maintaining strong relationships with all internal finance customers.* Accumulate, review and maintain assigned accounts by reaching out to corporate departments to obtain current information regarding corporate prepaid accounts, accrued professional services, legal expense accrual, third party services accrual, and others.* Ensure all transactions, accounting and reporting practices are properly recorded in accordance with IFRS. Participate in maintaining accounting policies and procedures in accordance with IFRS.* Respond, research and resolve internal & external audit requests by gathering data, spreadsheet calculations, copies of journal entries and documenting a schedule of payments.* Maintain master month end checklist to ensure an accurate and timely month-end close, as well as accommodate parent company close deadlines.*Minimum Qualifications** Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or four years' related work experience*Preferred Qualifications** Three (3) years general accounting and/or audit experience* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance*Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA's) ** Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas concisely and clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writing* Ability to build professional relationships with accounting and other cross functional teams while facilitating a collaborative environment* Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, with time sensitive and changing deadlines, without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail is a must* Must be a self-motivated and confident individual, who holds themselves and the team accountable* Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, proficiency with Data Analysis, Pivot tables, and complex graphs* Ability to manage tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work independently* Possess strong analytical skills in reviewing data to identify trends and opportunities*Physical Requirements*Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery.
