REPORTS TO: VP, Statewide Initiatives

LOCATION: Tulsa, OK or Oklahoma City, OK

THE ROLE

The Oklahoma City and Greater Tulsa regions are building a statewide team to organize and execute on a statewide strategic plan. The statewide team seeks an exceptional leader to lead statewide efforts on recruitment and retention of amazing talent. Specifically, you will implement the Ignite Fellowship in Greater Tulsa and Oklahoma City, manage recruitment for our alumni teacher and school leadership fellowships, and in partnership with our regional alumni teams, lead alumni recruitment to Oklahoma. This position provides a unique opportunity for someone with exemplary recruitment and relationship building skills to recruit leaders to Oklahoma, as well as project management and coordination to ensure the successful implementation of key programs. The Director, Ignite Fellowship & Alumni Recruitment reports to the VP, Statewide Initiatives.

THE PERSON

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Ignite Fellowship (50%)

  • Manage the implementation of the Ignite Fellowship in both Greater Tulsa and Oklahoma City and monitor progress to ensure success
  • Lead the efforts to identify and recruit exceptionally talented individuals, including college students and TFA alumni, to participate in the Ignite Fellowship
  • Partner and coordinate with districts to implement the Ignite Fellowship program including training and placement of fellows, design of program that aligns with the school day, recruitment and support of school-based trainers
  • Design and lead programming and training for the fellowship, for both the fellows and school-based trainers
  • Monitor progress on fellows' impact inside the classroom with students


Statewide Teacher and School Leadership Fellowship Recruitment (20%)
  • Collaborate with the statewide team to understand the unique needs of the schools and leadership needed across our state
  • Lead the efforts to identify and recruit exceptionally talented individuals to the teacher and school leadership fellowship programs
  • Cultivate partnerships to build a pipeline of leaders for the teacher and school leadership fellowship programs


Statewide Alumni Recruitment (15%)
  • Analyze the recruitment landscape and regional vision to create a vision for statewide alumni recruitment, set ambitious goals, design campaigns, and build a strategic plan
  • Build and maintain sophisticated systems for the identification and recruitment of exceptionally talented individuals to Oklahoma
  • Partner with regional alumni teams to understand the local landscape and key roles for alumni to fill as well as to cultivate, matriculate, and welcome alumni leaders to Oklahoma.


Lead Across the Movement (15%)
  • Actively participate and seek out experiences that push your perspective along our DEI outcomes
  • Attend and actively engage in professional development opportunities and learning groups
  • Responsibly steward statewide resources through consistent compliance with all employee policies and expectations
  • Drive discrete projects to support the Oklahoma regions in reaching ambitious goals.
  • Participate as a member of the Oklahoma statewide team.
  • Participate in all staff commitments (e.g., selection, matriculation, all corps events, team meetings).


THE MUST HAVES

Prior Experience
  • At least five years of work experience preferred
  • Teach For America corps member and/or staff member experience is preferred
  • Experience in recruitment is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required

Work Demands
  • Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities [1-2 times/year]
  • Ability to travel independently to multiple locations for work throughout Oklahoma and store/bring items to those locations
  • Occasional weekend or evening work is required
