PEC has an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Project Engineer in our Tulsa, Oklahoma office. This position requires 7 or more years of recent experience with ODOT roadway design and is capable of performing and directing design tasks with minimal supervision. This position will be responsible for staff development, technical execution of projects and some project management tasks with the opportunity for growth in project management and/or technical expertise.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist project manager in determining project requirements, setting the project scope of work, determining design budgets and reviewing contracts.
- Manage multiple objectives, clients, and internal team members.
- Communicate and coordinate tasks with the design team, subconsultants and other PEC Divisions.
- Develop design criteria and task lists for use by the design team. Design portion of project within transportation area of expertise and work with design team to produce final construction documents.
- Perform quality control reviews at appropriate milestones. Review documents for completeness and consistency with company and client standards.
- Coordinate with the project manager and design team to complete projects on time and on budget, achieve project goals and meet project requirements.
- Assist in development and mentoring of junior staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Licensed PE in the state of Oklahoma
- 7+ years of experience in transportation
- Meet and understand critical deadlines through efficient time management and effective verbal and written communications.
- Extensive knowledge of current highway design criteria. Familiarity with current ODOT standards and practices preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Bentley Products, including MicroStation and OpenRoads preferred. Civil 3D will be considered.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
