Maintenance, Repair and Operations buyer
Job Description
Purpose of Role
This position is to support maintenance and plant activities and minimize equipment downtime through efficient coordination of parts and supply inventories as well as to support the entire facility through organized receiving of all supplies.
Principal Accountabilities
- Maintain spare parts and supplies inventories for maintenance
- Ability to extract relevant data as well as using data from storeroom business systems and place orders as needed
- Ability to interface with customers, vendors, transportation agencies, freight forwarders, and various internal departments to achieve the lowest possible cost, desired delivery times, and fair return practices
- Interface with various departments during the week to achieve cost requirements
- A good working knowledge of Excel, planning and scheduling, and basic production systems and the ability to prioritize multiple activities with various risk levels. ·

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge
- Ability to work overtime and may require working in the elements of heat, cold, high and/or confined spaces. Must have the ability to lift, climb ladders, stairs, and do repetitive bending and twisting
- Work as a team member within the maintenance department to improve the total reliability of the plant
- Understand maintenance principles and develop self and department work practices to promote a proactive environment

- Must be capable of working at elevated heights and or confined space
- Wearing proper personal protective equipment
- Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting to 55 lbs.
- Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals
- Forklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- A good working knowledge of Excel, planning and scheduling, and basic production systems and the ability to prioritize multiple activities with various risk levels
- Good basic personal computer literacy required
- Good technical communication and teaching skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude and minimal supervision
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good basic math, reading and writing skills
- Basic knowledge of personal computers
- Good problem solving and/or troubleshooting skills
- Ability to access to relevant information about equipment and provide clear information about equipment condition and status, which would include any unscheduled downtime of equipment that hampers achieving the production schedule goals
- Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines
- 1 year of work experience within manufacturing, or a technical and/or trade discipline
- A good working knowledge of Excel, planning and scheduling, and basic production systems and the ability to prioritize multiple activities with various risk levels.
- Demonstrated competency in computer and pc software including MS Office and email
- Knowledge of inventory control principles
- Ability to operate a forklift/OSHA certification
Pay is commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
