Job Title: Project Manager II - Custom Services

As part of the Eugene Custom Services Project Management team, the Project Manager leads projects involving products and services not offered through the catalog. All projects and orders drive growth support to the BioSciences Division as part of the Life Sciences Solutions Group.

How you will make an impact:

This role serves to facilitate the information flow between operations, marketing, customer service, technical service, customers and sales on custom services, products and projects. The team objective is to maintain positive interactions with Sales and the customer to facilitate order placement, determine technical product feasibility, create internal infrastructure, address concerns, and assist in determination of corrective actions and drive timely customer follow-up.

• Act as liaison between the lab personnel and the customer (directly and through other departments) to set customer expectations, address technical concerns, and determine feasibility of custom requests.
• Create all SKU related infrastructure around new parts supporting new opportunities.
• Assist in identifying customer opportunities, needs and requirements and communicate opportunities to the Sales force. Provide necessary support to acquire and retain customers.
• Track the custom service process from the initial inquiry to shipment and invoicing of final product. Collaborate with all parties involved to analyze and improve current processes.
• Ensure final shipment of products (services) that may include, preparing a project summary, tracking progress, and contacting the customer
• Coordinating responses to technical inquiries by collaborating with professional colleagues.
• Recognize communication problems between the company and the customer, identify variables, recommend appropriate actions, and make necessary corrections to the processes.
• May generate business metrics and reports to track the performance of the business across products and processes.
• Coordinate team, inter-team, or inter-departmental problem-solving teams as required for custom projects.

How will you get here?

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or technical discipline highly preferred or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the required skills.

Experience

• Prior experience in a manufacturing, technical assistance and/or customer service setting strongly preferred.
• Experience in delivering top quality results under ambitious timelines.
• Project Management and/or Customer Support related experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Must have strong communication (oral and written), organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent Microsoft Outlook and basic computer skills, including familiarity with spreadsheets and databases. Ability to quickly learn multiple computer systems and programs.
• Able to set clear priorities, demonstrates strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong follow-through skills
• Work comfortably and effectively with all levels of leadership
• Able to influence business partners and outcomes
• Consistent demonstration of accuracy
