Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Assist operations leadership with daily management of workflow to ensure prompt and accurate processing of STD and leave of absence claims. Monitor and take action according to results of team performance in addition to performance of specific client accounts through reports and metrics. Act as the primary client contact within STD/AMSC to resolve and respond to complex/sensitive day-to-day claim and account inquiries from clients, their employees, field personnel, and other interested parties; resolve related issues through effective oral and written communication. Engage and coordinate with internal and external resources as appropriate. Advise and support claim and leave of absence staff to make accurate and timely decisions of STD and applicable leave of absence claims. Through available tools and resources ensure appropriate claim and leave management strategy including support of decisions, extensions, planning, use of resources, and communications. Handle service escalations, requiring a high level of judgment, knowledge, negotiation, and customer service skills. This includes carrying a case-load. Fulfill second level review and approval of STD and leave of absence claim actions for the team. Perform STD and leave of absence audits. Provide coaching and feedback and/or take other action as appropriate. Participate in new account implementation process to ensure client needs are met for the administration of both STD and leave of absence claims. As needed, assist with training on new or existing clients. Maintain accuracy of client-specific resource materials and assist with maintenance of general absence management resource information. Analyze leave of absence and disability data to identify trends and provide recommendations based upon findings. Train absence staff according to findings. Provide consultation to improve process execution and service quality. Conduct ad hoc audits and file reviews as needed to monitor performance at the individual, team, or client level. Deliver appropriate coaching and feedback to drive operating results. Partner with training resources to design content and deliver classroom instruction. Job Specifications : Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience deciding progressively complex STD claims, SDI claims and Leave cases, including 2 years of approving claims and cases for less senior employees. Must be an independent and self-directed worker. LI-Remote Note: The Standard is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary for this role when hiring a Colorado resident. The salary for employees working in Colorado in this role is listed below. The Standard's package also includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.
