About You ---

On the job training provided for qualified applicants with OHA License in Respiratory, LPN or RN. Under general supervision, responsible for the distribution of all work related to Respiratory Therapy. The team member is accountable for the performance and tracking of all professional respiratory service functions within the branch location. They are responsible for educating customers and healthcare providers in the function of respiratory equipment.


The team member should demonstrate a good working knowledge and a high quality of proficiency in the equipment categories that are provided (oxygen therapy, aerosol and humidity therapy instruction, artificial airway care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, nasal CPAP, BIPAP, and other equipment as may be designated). They will assist with cleaning, inspection and packaging of respiratory therapy equipment in the branch and participate, as required, in on call and respond promptly to on call personnel. They will instruct patients on the use, care, and proper cleaning of equipment.


Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assist referring physician and referral source in planning and implementing patient care
  • Perform initial patient evaluation and on-going patient assessments
  • Maintain thorough and appropriate documentation in patient medical record of all visits and procedures performed as well as telephone contact with the patient, caregiver, physician and other members of the health care team
  • Read and evaluate physicians' orders and patient's chart information to determine patients' condition and treatment protocols
  • Inventory and order all equipment and supplies per company protocols
  • Instruct patient and/or caregiver in equipment usage, respiratory services and equipment
  • Perform follow up procedures to determine efficacy of patient compliance while on therapy per protocols
  • Clean, sterilize, check and maintain all equipment and accessories
  • Must be able to lift and deliver an oxygen concentrator (55 lbs)
  • Ability to travel by car to hospitals and/or patient's home to provide services
  • Assist in resolving patient equipment problems
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication with the patient
  • Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment and attends safety education sessions


Position Requirements:

  • Current Respiratory License, LPN, or RN
  • Maintaining required CEU as required by state law
  • Must have current Drivers License with clean driving record for 3 years
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft office
