Title: Director of Human Resources

Schedule: Monday - Friday


Job Summary:

Shriners Hospitals for Children - Portland is seeking a Director of Human Resources. This position provides senior-level direction in all areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, recruitment, retention, salary and benefits administration, counseling and discipline, workers compensation, and the provision of coaching and consultation to all levels of management regarding employee issues. This position supervises a small Human Resources team. This position reports to the Hospital Administrator.


Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in providing senior-level Human Resources management direction in a healthcare setting

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or other related field
  • Advanced degree and/or Human Resources Certification is desirable

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal employment/ labor laws
  • Ability to work with only general direction, and provide direction and guidance to others
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and be able to prioritize by levels of importance and urgency
  • Excellent organization skills and maintain attention to detail while often under difficult deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to work on complex problems and provide solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills, judgment, and innovative thinking
  • Must be able to handle personnel matters with confidentiality and sensitivity
