Job description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESThe Project Engineer takes direction from Project Manager to ensure staff efforts are coordinated and directed toward department and company goals. Some travel may occasionally be required. The Project Engineer performs the following:Manage jobsite documentsCoordinate job set-up, site mobilization, project administration and closeoutPrepare equipment requisitions with the Purchasing DepartmentResearch, prepare and present proposalsPrepare cost control and expense reportsMeet performance standards set by department managerSchedule and track job progressReview contracts, design drawings, specs, estimates and write change ordersWrite subcontracts, purchase orders, correspondence field questions, and job write-upsCoordinate equipment procurement with purchasing dept and outside vendors to order and expedite materialAssist with monthly financial reportingSupport RFP and procurement processesCreate site-specific work plansCreate billing breakdowns and prepare billing substantiationAssist with preparation of submittals, operations and maintenance manuals, air balance logs and as-builtsDevelop positive rapport with customers and suppliersDemonstrate principles of Alliant safety program at all times to ensure project safety is managed effectively, proactively and consistentlyProvide timely and constructive communication with staff and customers regarding project status and concernsPerform additional tasks as assignedQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSThe candidate must possess the following abilities and skills:A Bachelor of Science degree in construction management or similar work experienceAt least 2 years previous construction Project Engineer experienceIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, NavisWorks, and BluebeamAbility to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals and estimatesTechnical experience specifically including detailed submittal/installation drawing review, dimension checking and material compliance; prior experience with mechanical and plumbing systems desiredEffectively interact with customers, technicians, sales, office and field personnel in a collaborative mannerAbility to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals and estimatesTechnical experience specifically including detailed submittal/installation drawing review, dimension checking and material compliance; prior experience with mechanical and plumbing systems desiredIntermediate understanding of accounting principles is a plusAbility to consistently set goals and meet deadlinesJob Type: Full-timePay: $55,000.00 - $67,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayApplication Question(s):Do you have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, NavisWorks, and BluebeamEducation:Bachelor's (Preferred)Experience:Construction Experience: 2 years (Preferred)Project engineering: 2 years (Required)Work Location:Multiple locationsWork Remotely:No
