The Classroom Coordinator (Lead Teacher) is a member of the extended leadership team who works to provide leadership in the classroom around Siemens CDC pedagogy, values, and intentions. Classroom Coordinators partner with the age group Program Coordinators and Director to ensure the overall quality of programming. Pedagogical Leadership: The curriculum of the CDC is rooted in social constructivism and inspired by RIE, the municipal preschools and infant toddler centers of Reggio Emilia Italy, and the goals of an anti- bias education. The Classroom Coordinator plays an integral role in providing leadership for their team related to (daily practice and organization of the environment?), the project design cycle, curriculum delivery and assessment. The CDC is accredited by the NAEYC; program leaders ensure that the quality standards are achieved. Teacher Mentoring and Professional Development: Classroom Coordinators support collegial exchange and collaboration through classroom observation, leadership in team meetings, and in all staff meetings to provide on-going teacher development. Classroom Coordinators work with intention to support teachers to make our values visible: Belonging, Collaboration, Inquiry, Joy and Advocacy. Parent Support and Community Engagement: Classroom Coordinators provide on-going support for parents by provide posting about the life of the classroom, information about developmental norms for the age group, and places where parents can connect and contribute to the classroom community. Successful candidates are professionals who are passionate about the art of teaching and committed to staying current in child development research and best practice in the field. They see themselves as lifelong learners who are eager to share their knowledge, genuine curiosity and passions with children, families, and colleagues. Education requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of an AA with 5 years' experience in center-based care; BA degree in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a leadership role in the field preferred.
