Epiroc USA LLC is currently recruiting for a Business Development Representative/Ground Support. Our Ground Support (RGU) Division develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of bolts, resins and complementary products for use in hard rock underground mining.
The Business Development Representative/Ground Support role will use product and application expertise to secure new business and manage the testing and customer acceptance process for the US Customer Center. This position will create strategies to grow market share with existing and new accounts, build market position and customer awareness. The Business Development Representative/Ground Support regularly consults with customers to understand needs and positions Epiroc as a supplier of choice to generate revenue growth. This position will report directly to the Sales Manager - Mining and the preferred location for this role is Elko NV, Salt Lake City UT or Billings MT.
This role has variety of tasks and is dynamic and changing. Goals and desired results can quickly change, and as a result this role requires regularly meeting and proactively establishing new relationships with prospective customers. Poise and an engaging, empathetic communication style based on natural warmth and enthusiasm is the key to achieving the goals of this job. The work involves driving toward results by enrolling the commitment and buy-in of others. Sincere appreciation for people and how they are each uniquely motivated is the foundation for designing and implementing interactive communication and decision-making processes. The job requires a high degree of "selling", whether of ideas, methodology or products in the marketplace. While there is urgency to goal achievement, responsibility for the achievement of results needs to be shared and effectively delegated when necessary. The ability to understand, quickly react and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization environment is a critical key to success.
The work environment includes regular exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and underground conditions. Personal protection equipment is required in this role. This position is considered Safety Sensitive.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to mine sites to build relationships and establish lines of communication with key customer decision makers to ultimately secure product acceptance and new orders
- Work closely with Capital Equipment, Parts & Service and Epiroc Technology colleagues in order to bring a value added Epiroc solution
- Ensure product testing is efficient and documented thoroughly
- Train Account and Support Representatives on installation and technical aspects of ground support products and continuous improvement
- Take ownership of the Ground Support response for any inquiry, tender or RFQ
- Address product problems as necessary, resolve and minimize impact to customer
- Work with Sales Management to negotiate contracts or sale agreements
- Work closely with Product Company to ensure product offering meets US requirements; make local arrangements to speed delivery and source locally as necessary
- Provide item revenue and quantity forecast to help plan production and material supply
- Research competition and provide analysis with respect to market characteristics (pricing, threats/opportunities, and competitor and customer initiatives)
- Prepare and present professionally in front of groups; be active with industry associations to raise awareness of Epiroc Ground Support products
Requirements/Job Characteristics:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred or extensive relevant experience in underground mining or ground support may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Demonstrated mechanical/technical expertise for issue resolution and discussing "root cause analysis" with customers
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and be a self-starter
- Adopt people/relationships focused approaches that will inspire/motivate others and engage their commitment
- Must possess a cooperative, collaborative decision-making approach and assume responsibility for risk
- Extroverted, warm, enthusiastic, empathetic, stimulating communicator with persuasive "selling" style is preferred
- Exercise leadership based on ability to motivate others with a steady commitment to results and delegating authority
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook; CRM and ERP software knowledge is preferred
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Solid professional presentation skills to small and large groups
- Maintain current US Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration required training certificates, and keep up to date with all customer specific site safety requirements; possess a valid/active driver's license
- Ability to travel extensively, up to 60%, for purposes of customer visits and product testing/validation, training, lead generation, shows, conferences, factory interaction, etc.
- Maintain courteous and professional demeanor and communication with customers and internal staff at all times

Pay Range:
$70,000 - $95,000 per year (This is a salaried position with variable compensation eligibility. Compensation determination based upon job related factors, such as experience, education, geographic location and other criterion).
