Purpose

As part of the Contracts Team, this position will be instrumental in initiating and managing various types of contracts with key vendors, suppliers and contractors for this exciting new offshore business. The Contract Manager will be an integral part of the Project Services Group working with a global team to ensure Avangrid has effective relationships to deliver against our business strategies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, negotiate and complete various key business contracts (with supervision from Contracts Director and/or Legal support) for the offshore wind business
- Prepare Non-Disclosure Agreements, contract amendments and other contract types with minimal supervision
- Anticipate contractual and commercial risks and implement control measures in accordance with Avangrid policies and procedures
- Coordinate all internal legal, insurance, procurement and other necessary activities for projects
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure quality, safety and cost targets are met and projects are implemented in a manner consistent with the contract terms and sound commercial and risk management practices
- Work within industry to identity potential for supply chain inclusion/expansion
- Work within Contracts and Project Teams on contracting strategies and project business cases and financing
Skills and Requirements
- Two (2) to five (5) years+ relevant experience as a paralegal, contract specialist, contract manager or other relevant professional
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline required (Mechanical/Electrical Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture, Contract Management, Supply Chain Management, Business or commercially orientated qualification)
- Offshore experience preferred; technical and practical knowledge of wind energy technology and renewable energy experience highly desirable
- IT literate with ability to operate Microsoft Office systems and other IT based project management software
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and adapt quickly to a changing working environment
