How you'll contribute:
Urban's Office of Human Resources is seeking a Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Specialist to support the use and maintenance of our HRIS, Workday. You will participate in the development and enhancement of Urban's use of Workday while providing support for operational activities and projects including creating and analyzing data reports, training staff on the system, providing customer service and troubleshooting issues. This position is crucial to our ability to automate and improve business processes and workflows to maximize efficiency and improve the user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain the HRIS in support of the organization's data management and reporting needs
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define business requirements
- Facilitate the execution of system changes (updates, new configurations) and participate in testing
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of organizational data within the system for the entire employee life cycle auditing and ensuring related corrections are made
- Review, assess and recommend improvements to HRIS workflow and processes, user experience, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy
- Develop user procedures, guidelines, process maps, training materials and documentation
- Research system issues/unexpected results/process flaws and recommend solutions or alternate methods for processing
- Provide functional system support, end-user troubleshooting, issue remediation and escalation management, and monitor reoccurring issues
- Provide data summaries, statistical analysis and custom reports for use in strategic planning, decision-making or regulatory compliance
- Liaise with Accounting and others across the organization on matters related to payroll
- Maintain knowledge of current trends in system requirements, releases and other HR technologies to enhance and improve efficiency in HR operations and service to employees
What you'll bring:
The successful candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology or other related discipline.
- In depth functional experience with one or more modules with an HRIS (i.e. Payroll, Applicant Tracking System-ATS, Learning Management System-LMS, Report Writer, etc.)
- 3-5 years of HRIS experience, preferably Workday
- Good understanding of HR functional areas, practices, reporting needs and data analysis
- Advanced computer skills required; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office365, specifically Excel
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders and other business units
- Demonstrated exceptional critical thinking skills
- Ability to balance multiple daily tasks and long-term strategic projects
- Ability to work well independently and under pressure, as well as be highly responsive to business needs
- Strong business acumen to communicate succinctly and professionally within and outside of the organization
