;Job Summary:

The Lean Field Services Manager III will lead, develop, and manage Lean via Productivity Tools, Programs and Projects. Responsible for regional project planning strategy, development, utilization and penetration to reduce overall outage cost in coordination with the Productivity Leader and Operations Director. Heavy focus on partnership with Gas Power MYA and Engineering to identify innovative new field ideas, vetting, validating and driving those ideas through NPI, UAT and Industrialization; translating those ideas from the innovation hub to outage cost out. A core focus will be on driving lean for field services to identify and remove waste for outage execution, driving lean action workouts and increasing the penetration of lean / productivity tool utilization. This role will have a cost out target associated with the region in which they serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the lean for field service standard and Regional application including: Leadership Standard Work, Lean layout, material flow, visual management, heijunka and workplace organization 5S
  • Drive Lean for Field Services on every outage Regionally, starting with core outages and moving to each site.
  • Drive Lean culture change throughout the Regional business, acting as an example through Lean Leadership and a key partner for the Kaizen Promotion Office.
  • Establish a clear strategic and tactical roadmap for Lean for field services, utilizing lean to reduce overall outage waste and reduce cost and improve On Time Delivery
  • Establish regional lead for field services lean competency program, developing capability across the spectrum from the tactical (deployment and application of principles, concepts and methods) to the strategic (a transformation that deeply impacts a key value stream)
  • Drive Lean Action Workouts focused on Regional needs and critical outages, value stream mapping the entire outage with the focus to reduce waste, cost and increase OTD
  • Consolidate Best Practices/Lessons learned from Post Outage Reviews and systematically incorporate into regional operating rhythms and outage planning, driving continuous improvement with both the FieldCore and Gas Power Regional teams.
  • Partner with the sub-regions, risk/productivity and engineering teams to lead global implementation strategy of standards, including field validation, communication, training, standardization and feedback
  • Implement affiliate (APM/OSS) manpower optimization strategies onsite driving daily lean management
  • Partner with FieldCore regional operations to drive best in class OTD, utilizing lean methodologies
  • Enhance and communicate value and utilization of the Lean Productivity Playbooks
  • Establish, implement, and lead effective programs which improve productivity
  • Focus on productivity programs, projects and tools to reduce overall outage hours and cost, including but not limited to Parts, Labor and Material with both global and regional projects
  • Partner with Regional Productivity and Operations teams to remediate technology related cost pressure through the use of lean tools, projects and programs
  • Partner with Gas Power engineering in Greenville and Poland to identify programs to reduce outage cost, focusing on specific NPI funding requests with clear, timely ROI
  • Utilize current outage Planning, Execution and Closeout rhythms to drive program penetration, best practices and lessons learned
  • Partner with the field execution teams to ensure programs, tools and projects are effective and in demand, ultimately pushing for FieldVision dispositioning
  • Own and understand the penetration and utilization of Lean tools, projects and programs
  • Travel required
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization's core values.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field with minimum five years of Field Engineer or Project management experience; additional years of experience in power generation can be substituted for degree
  • 10+ years progressive experience and demonstrated success/knowledge
  • 6+ years of specialized/industry experience in power generation and field services in Heavy Duty Gas and/or Steam Turbine maintenance
  • Experience with Primavera and Job Cost Estimators required
  • Fluent and proficient in both spoken and written English

Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's degree preferred
  • A deep understanding and experience with lean methodologies
  • Experience with gas turbine outage execution
  • Experience with outage productivity tooling and developing cost remediation projects and programs
  • Excellent communication and management skills and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels of employees
  • Expert in power generation outage maintenance
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Very results-oriented
  • Work well both independently and in a team environment, including in remote work settings
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, 50% of the time
