Job description

Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for following predetermined procedures to assemble, modify and rework products and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring, soldering and connecting. Responsibilities include following predetermined test procedures and performing minor troubleshooting at the assembly level to ensure proper operation of the instruments. Position may be responsible for packing products and accessories according to customer specifications as well as providing training to other associates and agency temps. Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as they relate to production and the company's objective is required. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining production goals through productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.

Responsibilities:
Assembles and tests, including set-up, of moderately complex instruments and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering following predetermined procedures.

Packages instruments.

Visually inspects and performs minor repairs.

Completes and maintains relevant paperwork and inputs information in computer system.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.

Ability to understand standard units of measure.

Ability to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices.

Ability to perform standard software operations including SAP.

Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Ability to occasionally stand in a stationary position.

Ability to use power and hand tools, and ability to use custom tooling.

Ability to regularly perform fine finger and hand activity / steady hand required.

Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporaries.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Willingness to work on various product groups and work flexible shifts.

Ability to wear ANSI approved safety glasses, steel toes shoes, and other PPE as required per Job Safety Analysis

Individuals with pace makers may be prohibited from working in specific work areas due to the operation of UV ovens

Education and Experience Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 3 months electronics manufacturing or other related experience.

Experience Preferred:

Past soldering experience.
