At a glance:

This is a mid to senior level advertising agency position, supporting our Digital Media and Integrated Media Investment team. This positions primary focus will be helping lead our Direct Buy strategy and execution within the OTT/Digital Video space. This position will contribute to the agencys point of view and continued advancement in this space. They will help evaluate, recommend, launch, optimize, and grow our work in this vertical, while also assisting with cross-training and agency education as our team evolves. Experience with client-facing interaction, media buying, programmatic platforms, industry trends, measurement and attribution, and the workflow within the digital video universe will be important for success in this role.

What does a Programmatic Associate Media Director, Digital Video do at Rain the Growth Agency?

Serve as the Channel Lead for the group that works on direct buys in the OTT/Digital Video space:

  • Lead campaign strategy and comprehensive management across key initiatives
    • Develop and present digital video channel strategies and recommendations to clients, collaborating with cross-channel planning, YouTube, and Programmatic team leads
    • Find new ways to leverage our vendors, including data targeting, innovative media opportunities, and platform execution strategies by conducting RFPs
    • Execute digital video in DSP platforms for direct partner deals, such as The Trade Desk and OneView, including management of the trafficking process
    • Advise on optimizations for existing campaigns, including pacing and KPI performance, and communicate with vendors/internal teams to make adjustments as needed


  • Grow close partnerships with internal teams and our external vendors
    • Vet new platforms/partners and develop agency relationships (with assigned buyer if applicable)
    • Keep OTT vendor contacts and records up to date with assistance from individual buyers
    • Schedule and participate in regular meetings and educational sessions for greater agency learning
    • Represent digital video within internal and external meetings as a channel SME
    • Collaborate with Rain Analytics to find opportunities and drive results across campaigns


  • Provide thought leadership and overarching agency strategy for our digital video partnerships
    • Develop agency POV strategic updates on direct buys in collaboration with programmatic leads for audience-based buys
    • Monitor overall changes in the OTT space (consumption, new opportunities, trends, competitor activity) and communicate out to relevant teams
    • Attend conferences related to innovation in the OTT/Digital Video space and present highlights to team members
    • Negotiate agency deals with new and key partners in collaboration with internal team members


What makes a great Programmatic Associate Media Director, Digital Video at our agency?

  • Expert understanding of the media landscape, particularly: OTT and digital video. Traditional linear TV a plus
  • Hands-on experience with programmatic platforms, trafficking, and reporting (i.e. DSPs, GCM)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office strengths in Excel and PowerPoint are a must!
  • A savvy negotiator with a passion for our and our clients success
  • An industry Rolodex thats a mile deep
  • A passion for the ever-changing media industry, and how to stay ahead of the curve
  • Self-starter who enjoys learning, asking questions, and working in collaborative environment
  • Comfort and confidence presenting to clients and agency executives
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and high attention to detail
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience, with a focus on digital video
  • Agency experience is a plus
