JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW

The Strategic Business Analyst delivers business analysis services in support of strategic corporate programs and business initiatives. In this role, you will contribute to implementation of solutions and capabilities that address critical business challenges. Responsible for evaluation, design, and implementation of solutions that improve business outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate and put into practice improvement and business transformation initiatives
• Implement strategies to improve efficiency
• Analyze and re-engineer business processes, utilizing an understanding of business problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment, in support of strategic business initiatives
• Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to elicit detailed business requirements using a variety of techniques, including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process workflows, value stream mapping, prototypes, storyboards, and use case scenarios
• Develop work plans, deliverable timelines, definition of overall approaches, and mobilization efforts for each initiative
• Mentor and guide project team members
• Provide subject matter expertise to support business requirement definition, process design, implementation of processes, organizational change, and timing for impacted processes across all work teams
• Evaluate business requirements, decompose high-level information into functional requirements, validate that requirements are based on business needs rather than user preferences, reconcile conflicts, and then document the functional requirements
• Help determine project cost estimates, work efforts, staffing profiles, and timelines
• Build collaborative relationships with business partners and with external vendors to achieve project goals
• Create and maintain project artifacts, including project plans, issue logs, meeting minutes, summaries, etc.
• Set and continuously manage customer expectations to ensure clarity of communication
• Collaborate with different departments to get new projects off the ground
• Track errors and formulate a plan to prevent future errors of the same type
• Conduct presentations of proposals or plan for company executives
• Should be highly self-motivated, hardworking, an innovator, and proactive in finding solutions
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
• Bachelor's degree desired; or equivalent education and/or related work experience.
• Master's degree desired
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):
• Any of the following are desired; Certification of Competency in Business Analysis™ (CCBATM), Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP™) Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) certification

Experience:
• 10-12 years' experience in Business Analysis, Strategic Program Management or Enterprise Transformation efforts

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives or playing a lead role in enterprise-wide projects
• Experience building business cases and assessing return on investment
• Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints
• Demonstrated ability to understand business objectives and requirements and convert them into solution designs and/or project plans
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
• Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques
• Excellent senior executive and team-level presentation, verbal and written communication, and facilitation skills; Ability to communicate and interact with employees at all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to assimilate new ideas and concepts
• Strong, demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
• Effective facilitation, negotiation and coaching skills
• Ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies
• Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.
• Demonstrated strength in issue management and customer relationship skills
• Excellent conflict resolution skills. Able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus. Willingness to support strategic direction and business decisions even if you don't agree.
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace

WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER INFORMATION (Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc.)
• Minimal travel required. Travel limited to training, occasional team meetings and projects
• On call after hours or weekend support may be required, as needed
