Job description

Title: Business Analyst - Billing BA

Location: Remote

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Knowledgeable of North American Insurance platform products
  • Participate in all phases of SDLC from requirements and scoping through deployment and assist in the resolution of issues
  • Consult with internal and customer business and technical staff to understand requirements and functional designs; participate in development of documentation artifacts
  • Document project requirements using Project Best practices
    • Configuration - web pages, templates, data attributes etc. .
    • Work with UI owners to support configuration in line with business processes, standards, navigation requirements, etc.
    • Work with developers to support configuration (actions, interfaces, etc.) necessary to integrate with other applications and services
    • Support integration and user acceptance testing of customer solutions
  • Sprint Planning Activities using JIRA (Atlassian)
  • Collaborate with Project and Configuration teams on analysis, design, best practices, consistency within projects and across projects
  • Work independently and as part of team implementing requirements
  • Support triage, investigation and debugging of issues and defects
  • Escalate gaps and/or issues to Project Manager and collaborate to resolve

Other Key Activities include:
  • Support integration and user acceptance testing of defect fixes, enhancements and on-going releases
  • Develop and maintain client and internal staff configuration related documentation
  • Participate in spec review meetings; function as configuration SME for assigned enhancements
    • Document configuration changes associated with assigned enhancements
    • Provide support for QA for setting up Test Cases and Regression Testing
    • Work with Architecture and Development teams as needed for clarifications, impact analysis, documentation updates, etc.
  • Demo set up for Coresuite Products

Specialty: P&C Insurance Billing and Collections Knowledge
  • Experience and understanding of Payment Methods, Collection Methods and overall Billing Cycle Management
  • Robust understanding of common integration point for incoming and outgoing files.
  • Understanding of General Ledger reporting of Cash/Collections, Accounts Receivable/Payable & Premium Accounting
  • Understanding of Digital tools and interfaces for Consumer access
  • Disbursement Processing understanding for Refunds and Commissions
  • Understanding of Commission Processing and the various methods utilized

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Strong business and technology acumen - ability to relate technical solutions to business objectives
  • Knowledge of North American P&C Insurance platform applications
  • Ability to adapt to various work settings
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Willing to travel to travel 25-50%


Preferred:
  • Experience with web-based applications
  • Familiarity with XML, XSLT, HTML,
  • Strong technical acumen
  • Working knowledge of policy administration software and systems; full understanding of policy lifecycle
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information, Finance, Mathematics or other related fields; in lieu of Bachelor's degree actual P&C Policy Billing and Collections experience can be considered
