The minimum pay rate for this position, depending on experience, is $16.96/hour.

The Pattern Shop Utility is responsible for the facilitation of foundry tooling retrieval and storage for a variety of operational and preventative maintenance tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow daily production schedule to pull and put away patterns, core boxes and components of value stream 1 and 4
• Inspect tooling for damage and recommend pattern preventive maintenance when returning tooling to storage locations
• Facilitate carrier transportation for pattern shop work and Molding 4 changes
• Identify opportunities to reorganize tooling for increased tooling storage capacity
• Retrieve and return tooling for pattern shop work orders all foundry centers (kit tooling)
• Maintain tooling storage location labeling system
• Ensure tooling storage area housekeeping
• Return of casting dimensional checks to inspection area
• Maintain standard component stock for poured: contacts, riser wells, knock offs, etc.
• Inspect and replace bolts (as necessary) for tooling in Molding 4
• Date code restocking at Molding 4
• Other duties as assigned

Critical Competencies

• Read blueprints and do shop math (fractions to decimals)
• Retrieve work orders from the work order system
• Return items to the correct work centers or storage
• Accuracy and attention to detail required.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience or training with blueprint reading, shop math, etc.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

Work environment includes regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels, dust particles, and constant exposure to variable temperatures, heat. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift.

Physical requirements include lifting up to 50lbs, standing for long periods of time, good hand and finger dexterity, and ability to bend, twist, reach and walk.
