Primary Purpose of Position
The primary responsibilities of this role will be to perform and lead the electrical maintenance at the Liquefied Natural Gas Plant, Propane/Air Plant, and Natural Gas Gate Stations in the PECO Energy Service Territory. Operate PECO Energy€™s Liquefied Natural Gas Plant & Propane/Air Plant on a seasonal basis.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
Installs, repairs, and replaces all types of industrial electrical equipment. This includes preventive maintenance and corrective repairs of electrical equipment ranging from 24-volt dc to 480 volts ac. Maintains and troubleshoots all systems and equipment within the gas production plants, gate stations, and gas distribution system including motors associated with pumps, fans, compressors, various types of heaters as well as plant motor control centers and associated electrical distribution. Uses various electrical diagnostic and testing equipment. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of and performs work in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and NFPA 70E. Is familiar with applicable codes and standards as they apply to job discipline. Prepares or assist in the preparation of labor and material cost estimates for new electrical installations. Interprets engineering drawings. Plans work using knowledge of shop mathematics, charts and tables. Contacts vendors to order materials for electrical equipment for repair, maintenance and installation of new units. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of new electrical equipment and electrical controls systems. Reviews new equipment and makes recommendations to update and improve electrical systems. Keeps abreast of codes and standards under which maintenance must be performed. Supports Gas Engineering Unit providing electrical code expertise for project planning.
Position Specifications
Minimum
- Ability to manage multiple projects, lead a team, and ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
- Knowledge and skilled in troubleshooting and problem solving
- Electrical abilities required:
- Current Journeyman License or Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician in an Industrial or Commercial setting
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in utility or industrial environment as operations foreman
- Work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial and commercial electrical systems following all codes and safety standards, and including troubleshooting systems, following blueprints, and permitting projects.
- Working with voltages from 480 volts to 24 volts.
- Good knowledge of electrical controls, motor starters, contactors, relays, and PLC€™s
- Familiar with NFPA 70 (National Electric Code)
- Experienced and trained in Lock out Tag-Out
- Ability to work independently and react quickly with minimal supervision.
- Proficient or better performance for the past two (2) years.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including demonstrated use of three-part communication.
- Valid driver license and access to an insured vehicle.
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency call-outs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb and tolerate heights and confined spaces
- Subject to a background/security investigation
- Associate Degree in Electrical Technology preferred
- Good knowledge and experience with pneumatics and hydraulics systems
- Good knowledge of motors, pumps, and blowers
