Position Summary Leads ERIE's day-to-day diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts to support the business, including efforts related to workforce, workplace, marketplace, product and Agents, and our community. Communicates purpose; ensures company-wide awareness and the successful integration of diversity, equity and inclusion concepts and culture into business operations. Duties and Responsibilities Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required. Oversees the design, implementation and monitoring of effective DEI programs within the organization that are in compliance with applicable regulations and agreements and meet corporate goals and objectives, including utilization of both internal and external partners and vendors. This includes aligning and monitoring measurable DEI goals with impacted leaders to inform work ahead and demonstrate progress over time. Reviews efforts to market and sell ERIE products to diverse populations; serves as a resource on DEI issues for all parts of the business; determines requirements for appropriate education of ERIE leaders, Agents and Employees related to DEI and leads training development and implementation; coordinates involvement in community outreach programs for DEI; reports on the progress of these initiatives. Consults on ERIE's sourcing and recruitment efforts to help establish diverse pipelines of talent, internal and external, for Home Office, field office, and Agent positions. Works within and outside of Human Resources to develop and implement performance management, talent review, career development, and other programs that incorporate DEI to enhance recruitment, development, promotion, and retention of diverse talent. Collaborates with DEI Leadership Council, Business Resource Groups (BRGs), Affinity Networks (ANs), and Blues Crews, providing leadership, advice, and education. Serves as ambassador internally and externally for ERIE and the Erie community. Serves as the spokesperson of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and applications to Employees, management, the public, and government agencies. Makes presentations to ERIE's Board of Directors, executive and senior leadership as required. The first two duties listed are the functions identified as essential to the job. Masters degree preferred. Ten years of experience in human resources, staffing, organizational development, diversity and inclusion, or a related field, required. Experience designing diversity and inclusion programs preferred. In depth knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to employment and equal employment opportunity required. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software required. Periodic travel and overnight stays required. Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
