Main Duties and Responsibilities
Safety:
- Follow all Bender Inc. Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as the safety requirements of our customers where applicable. Immediate reporting of any safety violations or concerns.
- Ensure all applicable regulatory standards are met with regards to loss prevention, accident investigation, OSHA compliance.
- Works with team members to actively improve safety.
- Ensure safety action items are completed accurately and timely.
Quality:
- Ensure team members are accurately following quality procedures.
- Work with Quality and Operations team members in the development of SOPs, identification of root causes, and implementation of corrective actions/preventive actions.
- Communicate and coordinate training on new processes and procedures as required.
Productivity:
- This position is responsible for working with Supply Chain to review sales forecast and product consumption to accurately provide demand planning for goods purchased for both distribution and manufacturing.
- Responsible for production planning, formulates the master production plan that best meets market forecasts, inventory objectives and customer requirements, and inputs to MRP for assemble to order products.
- Serves as a primary point of contact and liaison with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
- Collaborates with these departments to establish daily schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve our customer needs.
- Working closely with the Inventory Manager, compares current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials.
- Works with Sales, Customer Service, and Supply chain to review forecast and update the ERP system to ensure forecast can be met.
- Understand future capacity/supply constraints affecting production by engaging stakeholders throughout the planning process, and lead the development of recovery plans
- Leads planning meetings with Sales, Production, Supply Chain and Customer Service teams.
- Support supply chain / planning projects as needed (i.e. improve supply chain flexibility, demand processes, etc.).
- Maintain updates of key SAP material planning data to best utilization of the planning system
- This person will be responsible for the S4Hana production planning module implementation. They will also serve as the expert for production planning in SAP.
- Provides inputs to demand planning on shipment schedules, plans and forecast based on capacity. (S&OP process).
- Releases work orders to the manufacturing floor aligned with the production plan.
- Constantly maintain, evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements in material requirements planning (MRP) to drive down inventory levels.
- Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions to support master planning.
- Researches and resolves daily MRP problems including identifying product structure problems, input, and other errors.
- Performs data entry to ensure efficient use of materials planning.
- Responsible for creating, measuring, disseminating, and presenting statistical data and variance reporting and analysis.
Cost:
- Maintain cost in accordance from BTA goals communicated from the Head of Operations.
- Work with team members to actively find ways to improve material management processes.
- Actively work to identify and improve work processes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Actively improve SAP MM and PP systems against best practices.
- Participate in CI initiatives: i.e. 6S events, Kaizen events, and define steps that need to be taken
- Work with team to actively develop and coordinate improvements.
Other Duties
- Bender Family home related maintenance items.
- As assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lean and continuous improvement. Lean or Six Sigma Certification Preferred
- Ability to work with all employees at all levels of management.
- 5+ years' supply chain experience
- 3+ years' planning experience
- 3+ years' Experience with ERP systems; SAP required. PP and MM modules required
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel / Outlook / Word)
- Strong partnering and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to communicate across varying levels
- Data analysis skills required
- APICS certification is a plus
