Job description

The Executive Chef is the highest-ranking member of the culinary team at each property. The Executive Chef is responsible for all aspects of culinary production in all parts of the Inn and for guest satisfaction during all the services that the Chef D is scheduled for.

This position requires the skills to manage staff and the business needs. This position should be able to do the task of all positionsthe kitchens require.Should be able to write menus, food and labor costing, create schedules, manage cooks and dishwasher,writes.o.p.s for their kitchens and forecast and promote sales.AnExecutiveChef needs to communicate effectively with both staff members and the rest of theExecutive team.Being able to use email, Microsoft Publisher, excel work book, Microsoft word and basic computer skills are a must.This position requires the ability to lift 50lbs or more and have the availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

What follows below is a list of the specific tasks it takes to accomplish these goals. This list is as detailed as possible. It is meant to be used alongside the daily schedule and the daily checklist to organize and give structure to the big job but doing just these tasks is not all there is as the Executive Chef at Settlers Hospitality. We aim to make every guest not only satisfied, but so happy with their time here that they tell all their friends about how wonderful it was. To achieve that the Executive Chef will at times need to improvise and come up with solutions to problems as they happen.

The Executive Chef will have to be focused on fostering a team environment where everyone is involved in making guests happy and keeping our facilities up to codes. He/she will have to be creative with food and inspiring as a leader. The Executive Chef will be responsible for such things as: scheduling, hiring, administering HR duties, vendor relationships and payments, and other various business functions.

The Executive Chef is the persons whose name and reputation go with the food at Settlers Hospitality. He/she is to put his/her imprint on the food and to direct the CUISINE of a restaurant, in its full scope. While there still will be direction from the Executive Chef, there should be a sense of pride in putting his/her own personality and voice into the menus and dishes.
