Dell is looking for a Technical Staff Electrical Engineer to join the ELP (Experience Lead Platforms) team to create new exciting PC products. Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and influence future mobile product design by providing technical expertise and engineering leadership; strong focus on the front-end design cycle
  • Interface with Marketing and internal teams to define product requirements and generate concepts that meet our customer needs
  • Engage and direct design enablement with external development partners (ODMs). Duties include drive solutions, identify problems, and ensure design completion to specifications
  • Collaborate with technology providers to identify and scope new technology innovation opportunities
  • Generate Intellectual Property to protect innovations
  • Create and analyze design specifications, create system block diagrams, and product documentation
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit theory and principles
  • Create schematics, PCB layout, floor planning, and assess production schematic proposals
  • Assess tradeoffs, such as cost, performance, quality, and schedule

Essential Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and 10+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 7 years relevant experience
  • Proficiency to create and analyze design specifications, create system block diagrams, and product documentation
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit theory and principles
  • Experience with high-speed PCB layout design
  • 5+ years of experience with ECAD tools to create basic schematics, PCB layout floor planning, and assess production schematic proposals

Desirable Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and 12+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 9 years relevant experience
  • Work experience in design and analysis of electronics enclosures. (PC, server, or equivalent product experience a plus)
  • Understanding of security elements (EC & TPM’s) within a computer is a plus
  • Understanding of relevant technologies, specifically x86 architecture, vendor products and competitor's offerings
  • Experience with Cadence OrCAD/Allegro/Sigrity/Power SI/Power DC/Mentor HyperLynx
  • Technical experience in OS integration
  • Understanding of high-speed bus interface design, CPLD / FPGA design, High speed PCB layout design
  • Prior mobile EE architecture experience
